It's obvious, however, that the perfect vacation is different for every family. It depends on the activities that the family likes to visit and the locations they enjoy, as well as the ages of the children and the mother and father's parenting style.

Most people would still agree that the perfect vacation is one that is fun for the whole family and provides a relaxing getaway from the daily grind.

There are so many resorts and vacation destinations in the United States, and they all claim to be the best spot for a perfect vacation. When deciding on a destination, however, parents need to make another important consideration: cost.

Camping is a popular vacation for many families since it's fun and can be very inexpensive. You can easily let the cost of your camping vacation spiral out of control by buying lots of supplies, but you can also find a very inexpensive campsite at a national park and fish for your meals or gather berries.

You can make a camping trip even more of a bonding experience by having the whole family help to build a shelter and make tools such as fishing poles from the natural resources of the forest. You could also do some research to find out which plants in the area are edible, and go out into the wilderness to find them.

One creative way to make a camping trip more educational is to learn about the ways that people lived in the area many years ago. Living as a Native American or a settler from another country for a few days can be very eye-opening.

There are many places of historical importance in the country, and they make great vacation destinations as well. Look at a few brochures to find out where the local landmarks are, and you can have a picnic in areas that are important to our nation's history.

There are many vacation destinations that can be fun for the whole family while still being relatively inexpensive. For just the price of gas and some packed lunches, you can give your family a memorable vacation in a fun and interesting place.

Keeping your family happy is the most fulfilling thing to do. I love giving gifts to my children, and my daughter liked the decorative pillow I bought for her at http://decorativepillow.org

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Chris_Horbach

http://EzineArticles.com/?Planning-a-Trip-For-Your-Family&id=4117452

The Top Three Benefits For Luxury Travel Club Memberships

By Bruce A. Hoover

It used to be that owning a timeshare was the de facto answer for those looking to defray high travel costs. This often meant that investors had to make an investment of about $16k to gain the right to use a week every year at their timeshare property. Of course you can not forget about the annual fees that could range anywhere from $300 on up. To be fair you could always exchange your timeshare week for another one at a different property but this was not always easy and definitely not free to do. The rest of this article will focus on the top three reasons why travel club membership is superior to owning a timeshare.

The Benefits

Here we will list the top three benefits for being a member of a club versus joining a timeshare. This is not an exhaustive list by any means and they are not listed in any order:

Benefit #1

Less Expensive. Joining a travel club can be done for far less money. In some cases it can be as much as eight to ten times cheaper. With some travel clubs there are no annual fees.

Benefit #2

No Upkeep Fees. Since you pay as you actually use the travel club this is another cost you will not have to foot. For timeshare owners this fee can be as much as $298.00 for an entire week. With some travel clubs you can stay at a luxury resort for seven days for half of that.

Benefit #3

Huge Selection. Some clubs have up to 83,000 luxury destinations located all around the world that you can have discounted access to with your membership. With a timeshare you are limited to the location you originally signed up for or you could pay extra to attempt an exchange to a different location.

With this brief article I have stated the top three benefits of being a member of a travel club. These included it being less expensive, no upkeep fees and more destinations to choose from. Of course this brief introduction did not cover all of the benefits but I think you can see from what was stated enough to make further inquiry into.

Next, if you found the information useful and have questions please feel free to contact me at the travel club membership website. One of the must do things before you leave is make sure all of your paperwork in is order. Make sure that any passports, and Visas are up to date, as well as you personal ID or Driver's license. You don't want to be a a foreign airport and find out something isn't in order.

You want to let your friends and family know where all are planning to go, and how long you will be gone. Pick one member of your family to keep in contact with at all times, and contact them regularly. Be prepared by knowing where the American Embassies are where you are going, just in case there is a problem. Write down their contact information, and keep it somewhere safe.

Health insurance is very important, and even if you think nothing can happen, people get sick, have accidents, and get hurt all the time. You can buy temporary health insurance, or your own insurance company may even have some kind of rider you can purchase temporarily. This holds true for any kind of other insurance as well, like when you rent a car. It may cost extra, but it can save you a lot of headaches.

Another area where people get into trouble is with the locals, including pickpockets. They are everywhere, and prey on tourists. Try to get the language down, even if it's the basics. If you need assistance finding directions, don't ask people off the street. Talk with the hotel desk people, or your waitress, have them write it down if necessary.

David Dutton helps people find the cool places to visit in the world. Over thirty million people visit the city every year so it is one of the most visited urban areas on the planet. Since it was built over a hundred years ago the Eifel tower alone has had 200 million visitors. Disneyland Paris has also brought many new visitors to the area with almost 15 million people visiting this attraction each year.

So what is it that brings so many people to the capital of France? Perhaps it is the many museums that has people so impressed as there is certainly enough of them; with the Louvre being the most popular of them all. Paris is the home of the Mona Lisa and other great works of art such as the Venus de Milo. It seems like every corner you turn in Paris there is a beautiful piece of art to make your day. If you want to see all the art in the city then you better make sure to clear your calendar for at least a year.

Paris is seen as the most romantic location in the world. In fact it is impossible to not feel a bit of romance as you wander around the city. Evening times are best, and it will always help if you have someone you love on the end of your arm. Paris dining is the most sophisticated in the world and if you want to impress a date then whisk her or him off to the city for your date. If you want to propose marriage to your loved one then there is probably no place else where they would be more likely to say yes.

One thing you notice as you wander around the city is that Parisians understand all about style. It is more than just their great sense of dress, but also the way they hold themselves. The French admire individuality and there is nowhere you will see this more than on the streets of their capital city. Some of the most admired designer labels come from this city and it is no surprise when you see how fashionable the local population is dressed.

Historically Paris has always attracted artists of all stripes. Many writers and thinkers from around the world have gravitated towards the city and when you spend a few days there even you might begin to get artistic yearnings. If ever there was a city devoted to dreamers then this would certainly fit the bill. A visit to Paris affects people and for most a part of their heart will always remain in the city.

If you haven't yet been to Paris then you really should put this next on your places worth visiting. It just has so much to offer and you there is no excuse for ever having a boring day in the city. For centuries visitors have poured into the French capital and it is likely they will continue to do so for years to come.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/destinations-articles/why-visit-paris-1531383.html

About the Author:
Ryan Fyfe is the owner of http://www.all-paris.info/ - an information resource for all things related to Paris including articles, news, movies and more.

What is so great about Canada

Author: Ryan Fyfe

I'll be honest here and admit that I don't know enough about Canada. I have had plenty of Canadian friends over the years, and they all raved about how great it was, but they would say that wouldn't they. I doubt that there are many people in the world who doesn't believe that they come from the greatest place on earth. I am sure that even the people of Tijuana Mexico believe their city to be a fantastic location; trust me, it isn't. In the interest of fairness though, I have decided to do a little investigation to see just what is so great about Canada. Unfortunately I don't have the money to travel there so I'll just be relying on the wonders of Google.

Well the first thing you find out about Canada is that it is big; in fact it is the second biggest country in the world. This is impressive but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a great place to go. After all, if a place is made up of boring landscape the fact that it was really big would just be adding to the problem. A little more investigation though tells us that Canada is not only really big, but it is also full of some spectacular scenery. If you travel up to Newfoundland you can even see some icebergs and fjords; I'm not exactly sure what a fjord is, but it certainly sounds impressive. They also seem to have some stunning national parks and if the photos of Alberta are anything to go then well worth a visit.

Some more Google investigation suggests that Canada is a very tolerant country that values its people no matter where they come from originally. This seems likely because I've never met a Canadian who gave the impression that they were suspicious about immigrants taking over their country. Different immigrant groups seem to mix well in Canadian society so they must be doing something right. The friendliness of the population is an important element when it comes to judging the greatness of a country so in this respect Canada is doing well. It also seems to be a peaceful country and this will also add to its charms.

The Canadians also seem to have a lot less crime than some other countries. This will come as a surprise to people like me who get most of their opinions about the country by watching Trailer Park Boys. I have been assured though, that this is not how all Canadians live. In fact it turns out that this TV show does little to explain life in Canada; next they'll be telling me that the TV show Friends wasn't a realistic look at life in America.

So it does seem that Canada has some reasons to claim greatness. Stunning scenery, hospitable people, and low crime are certainly things to be proud about. Maybe in future I'll be less likely to dismiss my Canadian friends when they make claims about their land being one of the nicest places on the planet.
Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/destinations-articles/what-is-so-great-about-canada-1531310.html

About the Author:
Ryan Fyfe is the owner of http://www.total-canada.info/ - an information resource for all things related to Canada including articles, news, movies and more.

A Great Getaway for the Whole Family! If you are considering traveling to Italy, these are some things you need to know.

An Overview of Italy for Travelers

From a European perspective, there is little doubt that Italy is the bedrock of modern society in the West. This is conclusion is primarily due to two facts, the reign of the Romans and the Roman Catholic Church.

In more modern times, Italy changed into a nation-state in 1861 when the city-states of the peninsula, together with Sardinia and Sicily, were united under King Victor Emmanuel II. An era of parliamentary government came to a close in the early 1920s when Benito Mussolini established a Fascist dictatorship. His disastrous alliance with Fascist Germany led to Italy's defeat in World War Two.

A democratic republic replaced the monarchy in 1946 and industrial revival followed. Italy was a charter member of the ECU Business Community. It's been at the forefront of ECU business and political unification. Persistent problems include illegal immigration, organized crime, corruption, high unemployment, lethargic industrial expansion, and the low incomes and technical standards of southern Italy compared to the prosperous north.

If you're going to Italy, these are some basic things you must know.

1. Northern Italy is loaded whilst the south is not.

2. Italy is slightly larger of Arizona.

3. Italy's climate is mainly Mediterranean with Alpine in far north and hot, dry areas in the south.

4. The wonders of Venice, Florence and Rome are well-known, but broader minded travelers are heading to the Far East to enjoy some of the oldest and most incredible architecture in the world. Chiang Mai is just such a destination. It is in northern Thailand, closer to Myanmar and Laos than to Bangkok, which is some 700km (440 miles) further south. Thailand is not just about beaches, shopping and a sordid sex trade, it has some cultural relics which are quite amazing to experience. Although Chiang Mai is Thailand's second city, it is far different from the bustling, cosmopolitan Bangkok. Chiang Mai is famous for its teak forests, working elephants, arts and crafts and its well preserved temples called 'wats'. Golden pagoda-style roofs and white-washed chedi make up the skyline of this historic city.

Chiang Mai's rich cultural heritage stems from the days when it was the capital city of the Lanna Kingdom, over 800 years ago. This well-preserved town is in a fertile valley surrounded by jungle-covered hills. As well as being a Mecca for hikers and backpackers, it has excellent facilities for older tourists too. Many ex-Pats are choosing to retire and settle in this tranquil yet civilized city.

The Old Town is enclosed in a square moat and can be entered by one of the five restored gates. Chiang Mai's temples are far older and much more superior than those found in Bangkok. There are more than 80 Wats in and around Chiang Mai, each with their own particular identity and claim to fame. Probably the oldest temple within the old city is Wat Chiang Man. Built in the 14th century, carved elephants can be seen supporting the structure. It is situated on the site of King Mengrai's camp and is famous for its revered Buddha statues and the tiny crystal figure of Phra Satang Khamani, which is believed to have rain-making powers.

The largest wat in Chiang Mai is Wat Phra Singh, built in 1345 to hold the ashes of King Kam Fu. It has a fine collection of Lanna art and a library of sacred Buddhist scriptures. These impressive buildings are outshone by the famous Phra Viharn Lai Kam, one of Chiang Mai's finest buildings which contains the image of Phra Singh Buddha. The walls are decorated with wonderfully preserved 19th century murals showing the dress, customs and daily life of Chiang Mai more than a century ago. The well-traveled will also be interested to visit the Wat Chet Yot with its seven spires. A sense of deja-vue can be explained as it is a replica of a temple in Myanmar, which is itself a copy of the Mahabodhi temple in India!

Around Chiang Mai there are many places to visit. The imposing mountain of Doi Suthep is just 15 km (10 miles) west of Chiang Mai, with Wat Phrathat perched close to the summit. It can be reached by climbing 290 steps, but most visitors use the funicular in the steamy heat! Erected in the 14th century, the gilded chedi, two lavishly decorated sanctuaries and the cloisters still remain and the panoramic mountain views are equally impressive. Just beyond Doi Suthep is the Phuping Palace, a royal residence with beautiful gardens which are open to the public at the weekends. A couple of miles further on is the Hmaong hill tribe village, an authentic if somewhat commercialized community which is a great place to pick up handmade local crafts of woodcarving, silk, lacquer ware and paper parasols.

For those curious about a different side to Thailand, Chiang Mai is a wonderful experience, particularly popular with those who appreciate history and cultural architecture.

Veron Ho is the owner of Travel Haven, a travel agency dedicated to organising creative and luxury travel packages for their customers. Most people know about Devon, relatively few have spent a holiday there, but almost everyone has heard of the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson.

The Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson escaped the world's press by fleeing to the private twenty six acre private island off the southern coast of Devon, renowned for being an Art Deco retreat.

They certainly didn't go there for a holiday, but you can do as they did and escape the pressures of life by taking a holiday in the newly renovated Burgh Island Hotel.

Burgh island Hotel is an inspiring sort of place which inspired Agatha Christie to pen 'And There Were None' and 'Evil Under the Sun' when she stayed on the island during the 1930's.

Originally built in 1929 by millionaire Archibold Nettlefold as a retreat for his world weary friends, numbering amongst them Noel Coward. When you stay at the Hotel it isn't that hard to imagine Coward sipping gin and tonic in this exclusive millionaire's retreat. This was a time when the Jazz Age Brits came here in numbers, and you can see why.

Today as always the only way of reaching Burgh island at high tide is by a sort of giant sea tractor, or by foot at low tide. Nothing as ordinary as motor cars here!!

You can if you choose travel back to Devon during your holiday in this idyllic spot, but having escaped the rat race why on earth return a moment sooner than absolutely necessary.

Surely the idea is to live like, think like, and be a castaway, albeit a privileged one, with excellent food in the hotel's Palm Court, not forgetting the obligatory Devon afternoon cream tea.

You must at least visit, even if only for cream tea, and if possible ensure you travel at high tide, it is an experience you won't forget, nor will you forget the views.

Ian has been writing travel articles for over ten years now. The city offers an amazing combination of activities and sites that are sure to please people with almost any collection of interests.

Those who love history will adore Manchester. Tourism based on the area's history always attracts a crowd. The city has been in operation for centuries and it simply drips history at every turn. Travelers can experience some of the world's finest pieces of Tudor architecture, breathtaking old cathedrals and other living examples of the city's past. That's only the beginning, though. Manchester hosts a series of amazing national museums that details the area's rich history. Of particular note is The People's Museum, the only British museum focusing entirely upon the contribution of working people to world's great achievements.

Art lovers will also find Manchester welcoming. The Manchester Art Gallery is one of many wonderful installations offering eye-popping paintings, sculptures and design work from the era of the ancient Greeks to 20th century British artwork. In addition to museum settings, there are many wonderful galleries and exhibitions featuring the work of talented local artists.

When the sun goes down, Manchester comes to life. The city plays host to a vibrant gay nightlife, as popularized on the television hit Queer as Folks. That Canal Street scene is only part of what the city offers, though. Manchester is globally recognized as a hub for today's hottest music and is home to many musical venues--large and small--that attract crowds of party-minded music fans. The eclectic music scene is a popular element of Manchester tourism.

Enjoying all of Manchester's excitement requires plenty of fuel and you can fill your personal tank at any one of many great eateries dotting the city. When you first think of great cities in which to eat, you may not instantly consider Manchester. Tourism has created a great market for fine dining, however. Whether you have a hankering for the Italian seafood of San Carlo, want to experience the joys of boiled Yucca at Cuba Libre, or would prefer to enjoy more traditional British fare at one of many top-notch restaurants, Manchester will satisfy your appetite. If you're rushing from one attraction to the next, feel free to stop at a local chippy for fish, chips and mushy peas--the most popular of British takeaway meals.

Manchester is a unique city. It's a working class town with history. It's a university city with cosmopolitan flair. Manchester tourism offers something for everyone and should be on everyone's list of places to experience. Go to Manchester. See the old cathedrals, check out the newest bands, enjoy culinary delights and fill your belly with some of the greatest food in Europe.

There are plenty of hotels in Manchester city centre to choose from if you are thinking of trying out the night life as this is a great place for a weekend break away from the stress of everyday life and enjoy to just enjoy a comfortable manchester city centre hotel as well as the club scene.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Matt_Spock
http://EzineArticles.com/?Manchester-Tourism---Attractions-For-Everyone!&id=3354195

Taking a Vacation at Miami Beach

By Daniel Carson
Whether you just want to get away and relax on beach or live it up at one of the many hot night spots Miami is a wonderful vacation destination. Villa Vizcaya is located in Coral Gables, a beautiful and upscale suburb just outside of downtown Miami. Villa Vizcaya is a breathtaking site to view. Built by James Deering in 1914, this magnificent estate was crafted from purely authentic materials from Italy and Spain. Pieces of real European castles, dissembled and shipped by boat, were also incorporated into the grand design of this historical estate.

Besides a visit to South Beach the best way to wrap up your vacation in Miami is to take a stroll along one of its many beautiful beaches. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park not only has gorgeous views of the ocean but it is home to the famous Cape Florida Lighthouse. Miami's beaches offer a wide variety of activities that include sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. No matter where you decided to spend your time your Miami Beach vacation is sure to be an experience that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Article by Dan Carson, Specializing in Miami Beach Real Estate & Miami Beach Condos in Florida.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Daniel_Carson
http://EzineArticles.com/?Taking-a-Vacation-at-Miami-Beach&id=3357043

Ultimate Guide to Things to Do in Amsterdam

By Jez Rourke
There are so many things to do in Amsterdam, even the locals don't get bored! The Dutch capital welcomes you with open arms and a great way to start your break is to simply get lost!

Why not hire a bicycle and pedal through the streets to discover quirky shops and eclectic cafes. It's the most popular form of transport, closely followed by making your way around the city via the canals. Canal cruises depart from several locations, but for something different hire a pedalo and discover places away from the busy tourists areas.

As you would expect, Amsterdam has a myriad of things-to-do options so it's best to formulate a plan so you don't miss anything out that you really want to see.

Red light

Take a guided tour through Amsterdam's world famous red light district - it is certainly a bit of an eye opener! Zeedijk Street is the heart of the area and is home to a fine selection of bars and restaurants. This will be an experience you will remeber for a lifetime!

Museums
For a bit of culture, head to the Museum Quarter. Museum Square has three world class museums; the Riijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art.

The Riijksmuseum is a must-see for serious art lovers. Works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Jacob van Ruisdael and Jan Steen are housed together in a single space called the 'Masterpieces' exhibit. The Van Gogh museum has the most extensive collection of his work, drawings and personal documents in the world.

Rembrandt
Staying on the historical art tip, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn house - generally considered one of the greatest European painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history - is where you can get a glimpse into the artists' private world in his house containing a collection of over 250 etchings.

Anne Frank
Not far from here is Anne Frank's House. Opened in the 1960's, the building is dedicated to the Jewish wartime diarist who hid from Nazi persecution with her family in attic hidden rooms at the rear of the family home. Known in Dutch as the Achterhuis, the hiding places are preserved and the museum acts as an exhibition space to highlight all forms of persecution and discrimination, as well as an exhibition on the life and times of Anne Frank.

There is so many things to do in Amsterdam!
Copyright (c) 2009 directline-holidays.co.uk
To find your perfect Amsterdam city break, visit directline-citybreaks.co.uk and search for all the hottest deals & offers.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jez_Rourke
http://EzineArticles.com/?Ultimate-Guide-to-Things-to-Do-in-Amsterdam&id=3336907

The Picasso Museum, Barcelona

By Ethan Hill
Picasso Museum in Barcelona, depicts the heart of inspiration of many works is the legendary Picasso. The Picasso Museum in Barcelona is the first museum of art for art lovers and architecture buffs.

The Picasso Museum has one of the most important collections of works by Picasso. In the early 1960s, the museum's collection came from Picasso's closest friend Jaime Sabartes. Sabartes began filling the museum with hundreds of works by Picasso.

Located in the heart of old Barcelona, five palaces make up the museum. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised to find the museum in a quiet street in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. The construction of the property dates from the 1300s and the medieval structure is valued for its incredible architecture. A recent expansion gives visitors five zones to discover the famous art pieces. More than one million people visit the Picasso Museum in Barcelona every year.

Around four thousand people work in the Picasso, this justifies his work. A vast collection carries visitors on a journey of art from the beginning of his emerging talent, until the time when the artist was in Barcelona and later in Paris. Visitors will take into account the large collection of works by Picasso museum's blue period and added exposure sketches of artists and preteen children. The collection also contains drawings, prints and paintings from Cubist period and also the period from mid 1920 to mid-1930s, when he was under the influence of the Surrealists.

The most famous of the many collections of the museum is Las Meninas dating from the mid-1950s. More useful to visitors, for this particular work, is a correlation guide that describes the inspiration of the artist for each element. The important collection of museum pieces is "First Communion" and "Science and Charity" are considered the two most famous paintings.

After spending their day over here, visitors will find a bar and a pleasant restaurant in the museum with reasonable prices. Many other tourist activities are a short distance from the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.

Hotels in Barcelona provide the easiest access to the Picasso Museum in Barcelona and also for many other activities. The apartments in Barcelona offer more availability in the Gothic Quarter and the reservation can be made online.

Trane Air Conditioner & Trane Air Conditioners

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Ethan_Hill
http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Picasso-Museum,-Barcelona&id=3353922

10 Vacations Your Kids Will Never Forget

By Debra Fortosis
Maybe you discovered the hard way that kids are not exactly content wandering through murky museums or art galleries, gazing at massive cathedrals, or lunching in a lush setting. If you have a couple of 4-5 year olds, maybe you can get by with a few amusement rides and the hotel swimming pool. But once kids hit elementary school through high school, they will make your family vacation miserable if it's boring. I've researched ten super family vacations that are kid-friendly. If you have grade school and high school kids, you may have to split up during the day, but that's okay. So here's my list.

1. Okay, Okay, I'll cave and include Disney World first so you don't keep bugging me. There are far too many attractions to describe in detail. Let's see, there's the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Epcot Center, MGM Studios, Legoland, and much more. In my opinion, the only attraction that's getting a bit old is Epcot Center. The others are terrific. Just a word about the Animal Kingdom. The lodge is decorated with earth tone walls and African ambiance. Thirty-three wild acres contain over 100 different species including impalas, zebras, giraffes, Thompson's gazelle... Your kids will love Orlando.

2. The Out 'n About Treesort in the woods of Takilma, Oregon is a kid's dream. What child hasn't dreamed of living in a tree house? Well, families can actually live in one during their vacation. There are fourteen tree houses sleeping 2-8 people each. Lodgers use rope swings, swinging and suspension bridges, fire poles, and a 160 foot-long zip line to get around! During the day, families can take courses in tree house building or they can go rafting, swimming, or horseback riding, scale a 51-foot rope climbing tree, or take arts and crafts classes. The kids won't stop raving about this place.

3. Atlantis Resort in Reno only cost $850 million to create. The complex includes 20,000 guest rooms, 38 restaurants, 11 exhibit lagoons, 50,000 animals, 11 pool areas, 7 water slides, including a 60-foot Mayan Temple drop into a tunnel submerged in a shark infested lagoon. Kids feel like they've just discovered the infamous lost continent themselves. If you live closer to Florida, there's an Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas which includes many similar attractions to the Reno resort. But while we're talking about good old Nevada we might as well mention the other fabulous kid-friendly resort, Circus Circus. It's only the biggest permanent big top in the world and 3.5 million people flock there each year. Circus performers do their amazing feats non-stop, plus there are 200 arcade games, plus carnival games, and wandering clowns. As if that's not enough, there are over 20 rides in the theme park, miniature golf, and laser tag.

4. Now for something completely different: dude ranches. Tanque Verde Ranch, in Arizona's Sonoran Desert, is one of the best known. Throughout its 640 acres roam over 120 horses. There are riding lessons, as well as every kind of trail ride you can imagine. Naturalist guides offer hikes through desert wilds, yawning canyons, towering cacti, and even secret waterfalls. Kids also can take tennis lessons, swimming, and arts and crafts. Appealing to adults are the delicious steak cook-outs, gourmet picnics, the square dancing, and the beautiful mountains rising in the distance.

5. As more and more vacationers are discovering Alaska, it's becoming a top favorite. Alaska is still a bit wild, with 14 major mountain ranges, glaciers, much wildlife, and almost 34,000 miles of coastline. Ideally, it's best if you can take a land and sea cruise to enjoy the best of both worlds, but do what your pocketbook can afford. Summer is the most comfortable time of the year and there is plenty to do. You can whale-watch or view a vast panoply of wildlife at Denali State Park or another refuge. You can tour a gold mine, count moose, backpack, bird watch, camp, cross country ski, dog sled, hike, salmon fish, visit Mt. McKinley, stargaze, take a riverboat discovery tour, or visit the Imaginarium Science Discovery Center. And this is the short list. I don't think the kids will get bored.

6. New York City is sometimes left out as a kid-friendly place for whatever reason. But there's a lot for kids in New York's Central Park alone. You'll find horse-drawn carriage rides, Heckscher Playground, lake boating, Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, Central Park Zoo/Tisch Children's Zoo, Billy Johnson Playground, the Wollman Ice Skating Rink, and Belvedere Castle Nature Center. In the Broadway area, artists set up shop on the sidewalks and draw personalized names in a colorful pattern of dragons, pandas, and dolphins. These are extremely popular with kids. But the big draw, of course, is what Broadway offers. Disney invested $34 million to restore the old Ziegfield Follies haunt, the New Amsterdam Theater, to stage The Lion King in 1997. It's still playing to packed audiences. More recent Disney extravaganza include the Little Mermaid. Other popular family-friendly fare includes Mary Poppins, Wicked, and Hairspray. What can I say? This only scratches the surface in regard to what New York offers. Check it out.

7. Most don't realize it, but while some other states slept, South Carolina has been quietly becoming the #2 state for tourism, after Florida. Myrtle Beach alone welcomes over 13,000,000 guests per year. It's a 60-mile stretch of sand called the Grand Strand and features a great beach, water parks, amusement parks, dinner shows, the Hard Rock Park, special hotel and beach activities, and much more. MagiQuest, a major attraction, is a uniquely interactive experience. It takes many elements of a child's fantasy world, combines them, and creates a special place where children can be heroic, valiant, and brave. Children can fight the dragon, run around a Magical Kingdom, wave magic wands, and have lots of fun doing it. MagiQuest even brings out the child in all of us big kids too! So, if you're looking for some great fun, or wish to burn off some of that rambunctious child energy, you've got to take the kids to MagiQuest.

8. I've got to include at least one choice that's considered extra easy on the family budget. It's the YMCA in Winter Park, Colorado and it goes by the name of Rockies' Snow Mountain Ranch. Last time I checked, rates for a two-bedroom cabin with kitchen started at $126 per night. If you cook a lot of your own food, you can get off pretty easy. The area comprises 5,100 acres of pristine near world-class ski resorts. There is hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, a climbing wall, an indoor pool and gym, and horseback riding in the summer. And best for families with kiddies, there's a full kids' program for ages 3 and up. Who likes winter sports? This is for you.

9. Club Med Ixtapa may be the attraction on the list that would appeal most equally to both adults and kids. It is 30 acres along Mexico's western coast that hosts over 20,000 visitors a year, 60 percent of them grade schoolers. Kids of every age group are kept gloriously busy with all sorts of outdoor activities, fun shows, and crafts. If you want, there's even a perfect kids-only dining room. Meanwhile, the parents get to play! There's tennis, scuba, archery, kayaking, water polo, volleyball, and gourmet picnics. Families venturing off the Club Med property can visit the island, take a sunset cruise, go fishing, or take an excursion into the Mexican fishing village of Zihuatenejo. Then melt your troubles away at the Ixtapa Club Spa and get an outdoor massage or whatever else your heart desires.

10. There's a reason Caribbean cruises corner almost 50 percent of the cruise line market in the U.S. It's because the Caribbean offers the vacation so many have dreamed of for years. Imagine yourself on the largest, sleekest ocean liner imaginable, watching a brilliant sunset against rippling waves out of your cabin window. Then imagine eating superb food whenever it strikes your fancy, day or night. Imagine wonderfully entertaining shows, on-shore excursions to lush islands, and see yourself relaxing or engaging in activities according to your fancy. Then realize that, if you wish, the kids will be engaged for much of each day in a children's program tailor-made just for them. This is what you call an all-inclusive vacation. What more could you want?

Go ahead, Google your favorites if you want. Choose your family vacation of a lifetime and begin planning for it. This will be the vacation that your kids will still remember fondly when they have their own kids. Cool.

Debra Fortosis is a professional travel agent. Some parts of Florida can get a little chilly during the winter months, but places like Fort Myers and Miami stay warm pretty much all year round. This makes Fort Myers a great place to visit practically any time of the year.

Florida is a great place to visit with a group of close friends. In fact Florida is one of the most fabulous places to vacation in the country. It is pretty easy to find a place to stay, but during the peak season it can be more difficult. You best bet is to make your reservations ahead of time. You can make reservations using any of the online travel sites, but you should make sure you shop around a bit to make sure you get a really good deal.

If you do decide to visit Fort Myers with a group of friends you may want to avoid spring break. Although Spring break is not a traditional spring break town, it still draws a crowd during spring break. Thousands of families flock to Fort Myers during spring break every year to spend time playing in the surf and soaking up the sunshine.

You may want to consider taking your Florida vacation during Florida's off season. This usually runs from January till March. During this time of year the weather is still fairly warm in Southern Florida. In northern Florida it will be too cold to swim and visit the beach.

Visiting Fort Myers during Florida's off season is a good Idea if you want to save some money. Between the months of January and March hotel prices tend to drop, because business is slow. You can usually get a great deal during these months.

If you don't want to use the internet to book your room you might consider using a travel agency. A travel agent can show you many different Fort Myers hotel packages and help you to decide which package is best for you.

The internet is a great resource for finding beech condos and beach house in the Fort Myers area. Try checking out vacation rental or a site that has online classified ads like Craigslist.

Make sure that you plan your visit well in advance. It will give you time to decide all the things that you want to do while you are there on vacation. It will also allow you enough time to search for the best possible rate on your hotel as well as your rental car and your airfare.

Plan to bring enough money to eat on as well. If you plan on eating out a lot it can end up costing quite a bit. You can visit a grocery store once you are in Fort Myers to and get things to snack on and eat for breakfast and dinner. Most areas in Florida have a local Winn Dixie or a Publix grocery store. You can expect the prices to be a bit higher in tourist towns, so pack the thing that you can bring from home. Purchase perishable items when you get into Fort Myers.

Article by Dan Carson, Specializing in South Beach Condos & Miami Beach Waterfront in Florida.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Daniel_Carson
http://EzineArticles.com/?Vacationing-in-Fort-Myers&id=3357090

Top Beach Picks in Florida

By Daniel Carson
Florida is the land of sunshine and sand. Anyone who visits Florida must take the opportunity to visit one of its many sun soaked beaches. Florida beaches have something for everyone whether you just want to walk along the beautiful sand, have fun, spend time with the family, watch the sunset, or just kick back and relax.

Famous for its white sandy beaches and exciting activities, Fort Walton Beach is the perfect destination. Fort Walton Beach, located in the Florida Panhandle, has miles of gorgeous sand perfect for walking along hand in hand with that special someone. Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island overlooks the clear blue ocean water and offers covered picnic areas so you can enjoy a meal while looking out upon the water. There are also plenty of places to shop or just stop in for a delicious tropical drink.

If you go further down the tip of Florida you will find Smathers Beach. Located in Key West, Smathers Beach is the longest and best known beach in this tropical paradise. Fun in the sun does not do justice to the activities that you can partake in while visiting this beach. Fort Zachary State Park is a great place for fishing, snorkeling, swimming, or even a wedding. Smathers Beach is the ultimate destination for anyone looking to have an exciting and fun vacation beyond anything they have ever experienced.

Siesta Key is a barrier island only eight miles long and is just offshore of Sarasota. Siesta Key has three beaches that are the perfect choice for those who are on vacation with the family. The three main beaches on Siesta Key are Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach, and Turtle Beach. Each beach offers a special treat for visitors that come to Siesta Key. Whether you are looking to collect shells, relax in the sun, or go parasailing Siesta Key's beaches have it all. Siesta Key beaches offer tropical breezes, gorgeous views, and powder white sand.

What better way to enjoy a day at the beach than to watch the sun begin to set. Clearwater Beach, bordered by the Gulf of Mexico, offers the best view of the sun going down over the crystal clear water. And if you are into adventure, then you have arrived at the right place. Clearwater Beach has every kind of boat adventure that you can ever imagine. There are paddleboats, snorkeling boats, fishing boats, and nature boats, just to name a few. Clearwater Beach is where you want to be yet a lifetime away from everything.

A beach that is sexy and sophisticated is Miami Beach where you will find not only beautiful sandy beaches but exciting nightlife as well. South Beach is one of the main attractions in Miami. South Beach has all of the top restaurants and clubs as well as the occasional sighting of famous stars. South Beach is also home to the Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive. Miami Beach also offers the Art Deco district for those who want to take in more than just the sun.

Article by Dan Carson, Specializing in Miami Oceanfront Condos & Miami Beach Homes in Florida.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Daniel_Carson
http://EzineArticles.com/?Top-Beach-Picks-in-Florida&id=3357075
