San Diego is one of the most popular California destinations. It gets visitors year-round from all over the world. Part of it is just the weather. Visit The Harbor
San Diego has one of the best Maritime Museums in the country. It’s right on the harbor and it includes four different historic sea vessels. There’s the famous “Star of India”, as well as the “HMS Surprise”, an 18th century Royal Navy frigate that was featured in the movie Master and Commander. You can also hop into a real Soviet submarine and check out the view from the top deck of the “California”, a colorful topsail schooner, all within walking distance of downtown and the Sea Port Village shopping center.
Party at the Gaslamp
If you need to unwind with some drinks and dancing, the Gaslamp District in the heart of San Diego’s Downtown area is definitely the place to go. You’ll find everything from salsa dancing to five-star restaurants, sports bars and cocktail lounges, all within short walks of each other. A great place for singles and couples.
Play in the La Jolla Coves
The Coves in La Jolla is one of the most scenic places to visit in San Diego. The cliff formations are great for photo ops and the grassy tops make for wonderful picnic spots. The whole family can enjoy a day at the coves, playing in the tide pools and the gentle surf. You can also take a guided kayak tour of the coves and watch the seals play.
Stroll Through Balboa Park
Walking down the promenade at Balboa Park has some of the best San Diego, CA entertainment available. And while you’re at it, visit some of the Park attractions. They include ten different world renowned museum, an IMAX theatre, an outdoor playhouse with a replica of Shakespeare’s Old Globe, nine botanical gardens, the world-famous San Diego Zoo and several shops and restaurants.
Hike in the Pines
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you have to take a hike through the Torrey Pines State Reserve during your next San Diego Visit. It is the home of the rare Torrey pine and the natural habitat of various wildlife, such as foxes, coyotes and bobcats.
